As the media portrays the oil spill catastrophe in a daily whatever-will-sell headline, there appears to be a lack of visibility of on-site, coordinating state and federal environmental officials. BP is NOT alone in culpability, and its puzzling as to why the head of Transocean (and others), were not sitting next to Mr. Hayward in Washington today. Personally, as furious as I am about this situation, I believed Mr. Hayward's apology.
Between corporations not preparing for the worst, and government officials not policing them, there's enough blame to go around for everyone. Now the questions loom: how do we stop this ASAP, clean up the colossal residue, and, prevent this from happening ever again?
