THE RISE AND FALL OF THE UNITED STATES

Well, another day is done, and once again my heart and mind are taxed at the thought of Washington and it's disintegrating reputation. With the Executive Branch allowing for the commutation of Mr. Libby's sentence, it has spat in the face of the blind-folded woman carrying the scales and sword, a figure which by itself represents one of the most important virtues the founders of this nation fought to protect - Justice. The citizen's of this country deserve not to be lied to, not to have their national security threatened in the name of retribution, not to have their juries underminded and held in contempt. In other words, the United States deserves far better. SHAME ON WASHINGTON, AND SHAME ON US FOR PERMITTING THIS TO CONTINUE. Was President Putin right? Have we withered and decayed that much? November 2008 cannot possibly come fast enough, but the ultimate question remains, will there be anything left?
