George Tenet has angrily come forward to profess that regarding terrorism, he and his staff did all they could, with all they knew. His agency was/is not to blame. Now his former "officers" are suddenly coming out of the woodwork to protest his poor leadership skills. How convenient. Don't get me wrong, there's enough blame to go around here - for everyone.
Former National Security Advisor, Richard Clark, voiced the same frustration in getting anyone to pay attention to his concerns about an imminent terrorist attack only a few months before 9/11, but, no one would listen.
The legacy of our current leadership may be measured by many things, but integrity is not one of them. America's voters looked at President Clinton's intern scandal and thought they knew what corruption was.
There's an old adage that says you better be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it. Well, as a nation, we did - in spades. The time has come for us to figure out how to make peace with our enemies.
