Once more, 'Project Runway' has proved that while it is temporarily curious, it is not truly interested in designers who have what might be considered a "signature" talent. Those contestants revealing a specific skill, such as creating formal/evening wear are, forgive the pun, strung along until the 11th hour, only to be told their presentations have no continuity. Keeping such candidates in the running only looks to placate the 'girly' minded viewers. Being well-rounded is a nice idea, in a perfect world, but designers who exhibit a special expertise should not be dismissed.
Traditional designing forte do not matter here. If you're not avant-garde/couture or dark-edgy/Goth, just avoid the drama and inevitable disappointment, and find other platform from which to launch your work.
